Post-Sale Destaging: What Happens After the Home is Under Contract

Once your listing is under contract, our team shifts seamlessly into the final phase of the staging process: destaging. Just as we handle the installation from start to finish, we also manage the removal with the same level of care and organization. We require ten days’ notice to schedule de-staging, which gives us time to coordinate access with building management, arrange elevator permissions, and ensure our movers arrive prepared. Our goal is to make this final step feel effortless for both sellers and agents.

A reverse Before & After, if you will. Destaging involves restoring the room to its pristine “Before” state.

On de-stage day, our team removes all furniture, artwork, lighting, rugs, and accessories that were brought in for the installation. We walk through the space before and after to confirm everything is in the same condition as when we arrived. Because many sellers are preparing to move at the same time, our process is designed to be quick, respectful, and minimally disruptive. The home will be left clean and cleared, ready for its next chapter.

For agents, de-staging is one less thing to manage at a time when a lot is happening behind the scenes. For sellers, it brings the selling journey full circle. From the first consultation to the last piece of furniture leaving the building, Urban Staging handles every detail so you can focus on closing and moving forward.
